Canada Visa: Immigrate to Canada Through Canada Express Entry Application

What Is Canada Express Entry?

In January 2015, the Canadian government dispatched another electronic migration framework that provides an express movement to Canada for skilled and qualified workers.
The latest Express Entry program will oversee applications for permanent residency for foreigners who are able to fill occupations/jobs where we have a deficiency of accessible skilled Canadian laborers. (View LMIA data for a connected subject also.)

Canada Federal Skilled Workers Program Visa
The Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program is one of the three programs contained within Canada’s Express Entry system for processing permanent residency applications. All programs within Express Entry are highly competitive, utilizing Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to rank candidates.
As CIC clarifies, if you’re intending to be a permanent resident in Canada through the Federal Skilled Workers Program, you must initially meet the least prerequisites for work understanding, language capacity, and instruction.
This program is for skilled workers with foreign work experience who want to immigrate to Canada permanently.

Canada Government Skilled Trades Program

The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents based on being qualified in a skilled trade.

Eligibility to apply for the Federal Skilled Trades Program (Express Entry)

To be eligible, you must meet the required language levels for each language ability

  • have at least 2 years of full-time work experience (or an equal amount of part-time work experience) in a skilled trade within the 5 years before you apply
  • meet the job requirements for that skilled trade as set out in the National Occupational Classification, except for needing a certificate of qualification
  • have a valid job offer of full-time employment for a total period of at least 1 year or certificate of qualification in that skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial, territorial or federal authority
Canada Experience Class
The Canadian Experience Class is for skilled workers who have Canadian work experience and want to become permanent residents.
To be qualified below the Canada Experience Class, CEC indicates that you simply meet the least work understanding and language capacity prerequisites.

How we calculate work experience

Your skilled work experience must be paid work including paid wages or earned commission. We don’t count volunteer work or unpaid internships.

For part-time work, you can work more or less than 15 hours/week as long as it adds up to 1,560 hours. You can work more than 1 part-time job to get the hours you need to apply.

We don’t count any hours you work above 30 hours/week.

Canadian Work Experience

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is an immigration program that allows individuals who have worked in Canada for at least one year to immigrate permanently. CEC is a part of Canada’s Express Entry immigration system.

The government of Canada recognizes the deep pool of talented workers already working in Canada and wants them to become permanent residents. These are individuals and families who have set down roots and made plans for the future in Canada.
